Baptism

Infant Baptisms, for registered parishioners' children under the age of 7, typically occur every  Sunday of each month at 1:30 P.M.. Baptisms for infants are not scheduled on Easter Sunday, Mother's Day or Father's Day. If you have not yet registered as a parishioner, you may do so at the class.

There can be at most 2 Godparents. It is possible to have your baby baptized with only one Godparent. This Godparent may either be a man or a woman. Typically there are 2 Godparents, one must be a man and the other a woman. At least one of the Godparents must be a practicing Catholic. This person must be at least 16 years old, and have received all the Sacraments of Initiation, including Confirmation.

A required pre-Baptism class, for the parents, is held on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. No registration is required for the class. If it has been less than 18 months since you last attended a pre-Baptism class, you do not need to attend. You will need to call the parish office and let them know when and where you attended your last class.

During the class you will fill out a Baptism Registration Form, on this form you will request a Baptismal date. You can not schedule the date until you have attended the class. The day following the class, please call the Linda at the Parish Office 630.759.7588 x103, to confirm your date. Please remember that a maximum of 6 infants are scheduled on a given day, so you may not be able to have your first choice. In order to avoid disappointment and unnecessary expense, please do not schedule parties, reception halls, airline tickets etc. until your date has been confirmed with the Parish Office staff.

Reconciliation

Confessions are Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Penance services are also held twice a year, 1 during Advent and 1 during Lent.

The sacrament can also be received anytime by scheduling an appointment with the pastor, Fr. Herb Essig.

Marriage

Arrangements must be made with the pastor, Fr. Herb Essig, at least six months in advance. Please call the parish office, 630.759.7588, x105 to request an appointment to speak with Fr. Herb.
Please, DO NOT reserve a reception hall or send out invitations until your wedding date has been confirmed.

RCIA - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Do you want to join the Catholic Church?  Do you wish to complete your Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation)?  Would you like to grow and learn more about the Christian faith?

The RCIA is a community of faith in Jesus Christ that journeys together towards a sharing of the gifts of faith, hope and love.  Our next session begins on September 23rd, but there is still time to join us.
